The state government
A state government is a group of people who are given the power and authority to run the affairs of many local government areas which make up the state. A state is much bigger than a local government area but lower than the whole country under the federal government. A state government is headed by an elected officer called the governor and assisted by a deputy governor and commissioners. There are thirty-six (36) states in Nigeria. Each state has a capital where the state government office is located.
